I am disappointed at my 500 character limit on here…have to make it short and precise. Anyway I will have agree with Mr Pregnant. I sometimes honestly wonder if Rap or the subgenres can even be considered music. However to say that the government should ban it is not logical. The US is a democracy and can neither control businesses or ban certain entertainment unless of course it threatens society as a whole. What can be done is too encourage the music industry to set higher standards.

There would be people that can’t tell why they hate stuff like metal other then it sucks. The only way rock is becoming popular is through the video game industry, in other words Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Before these games came out I am certain many would not know what Rock was

For those that did not watch the entire video, he was not saying don’t listen to rap completely. He was saying that a) rap artists need to be more meaning in their songs, not use ebonics a lot, and talk about other “garbage”. b) You should not except these genres as the only available music for you to listen too. It is something that both artists and the listeners need to work on. Also you shouldn’t have to listen to Rap to be black, I agree fully. I salute you Mr Pregnant, valid argument!!

One last thing, I once recently saw “The Earthman Experience”. It supposedly mixes modern hip hop with other stuff including having a traditional African drum in the band. This is where the hip hop/ rap industry should go if it should go any where. Instead of sampling songs and then rapping over it the artists should be in a multi-performer band like it used to be back in the day. Either that, or learn to play an instrument. Or learn some music theory to use in digital music.

mrpregnant might be a little too harsh in this blog, but i completely agree. hip hop encourages violence and pretty much everything negative and its not a coincidence. they do it purpose so they can fuck with the minds of the youths and they are very successful. You can’t fit in with the youth anymore unless you’ve been to jail or your a up n coming drug dealer. we need to clean this shit up asap but its sad for me to say that i dont think thats going to happen any time soon.
