Can a 40/50 yr old woman carry & pass hpv even tho she’s been treated & has no signs/symptoms for over 15 yrs?

No where am I able to find an answer to this question which was posed to me by a male friend. He believes the virus can 'pop' out at any time and he could therefore contract Genital Warts and pass them to an unsuspecting partner. This is if the woman has had pap smears showing pre-dyplasia & some Genital Warts; all of which have been removed thru laser, cryosurgery & hysterectomy w/ cervix removed.. Are HPV & Genital Warts somehow linked?

Simply put – HPV is a viral infection. We have no cure for HPV or any virus and therefore virus lay dormant in our bodies. This being said, its is very possible for any person with HPV to transmit the virus.
