How can I get rid of HPV?

April 30, 2009 by admin

I was diagnosed yesterday with HPV-Genital Warts. I was sexually assaulted 9 months ago when a man put his finger in my vagina after touching himself. I now have a bunch of warts and they itch so bad I can't sleep.

I am getting Aldara tonight hopefully.

I get so depressed. Should I get happy? Do you think I am getting so many warts because I am depressed all the time which makes my immune system down?

Aldara works quite well. Don't feel bad about it, millions of people have genital warts at any point in time. They're incredibly easy to catch. It's also easy to get rid of them. Also, the forms of HPV that cause warts don't cause cancer. So the warts aren't pretty but they're harmless. It's really not a big deal at all to have HPV; something like 50-90% (depending on where you get your statistics) of sexually active adults have some form or another of HPV.

As to depression depressing your immune system, yes it can. I'm not sure it has anything to do with your warts, but happy is healthy so why wouldn't you make yourself happier? Go on get happy!
