HPV and Gentil Warts???

April 26, 2009 by admin

I was diagnosed wtih HPV severeal months ago. I have external Genital Warts. I had tried the Aldara cream for a month (the doctor was kind enough to cover the cost of one month for me since Im a student and dont have enough money to pay for the prescription myself). The cream ran out several weeks ago and I just went to the doctors yesterday and recieved an acid treatment. The site where the acid was applied is grey on the warts now and surrounding them. There is a small area on the inside of the labia that is white. Its a small oval shape. I havent showered yet, as the doctor told me to wait 24 hours until doing so. I was just wondering if the grey and white areas with go away with showering or with time? Also, the doctor noticed that the HPV Genital Warts have spread to the inside wall of the vagina. She said shes only seen one or two people with this in the past. Has anyone had any situation similar to that? What should I expect to happen next? I have a colposcopy scheduled soon.
The Genital Warts and HPV have not spread to the cervix. Just to the vaginal walls. The doctor said my cervix looked healthy.
The white spot came after having the acid applied yesterday. So, its not herpes and its not from the Aldara. I was thinking it could be from the acid and my skin reacted wierdly. Has anyone else had that happen?
This is my first treatment with the acid. I have a follow up for more acid in ten days.

What you are experiencing sounds normal, but call your doc on Monday if it hasn't gotten better.

And you WON'T have this virus for life. 90% of people will clear the virus from their bodies within 2 years.

It sounds as if you already had an abnormal pap if you are having a colposcopy, but its important to note that the types of HPV that cause visible warts aren't the types that lead to cervical cell changes. Its also VERY common to be infected with more than one strain at a time.

    Good luck!!
