hpv & genital warts?

April 15, 2009 by admin

Right now I have been told I have HPV with Genital Warts. I haven't yet had the pap or HPV test(will be Jan 3). Are there any other reasons that you would get Genital Warts other than hpv? If my warts go away or are removed, can I still pass the virus to my partner? Or do I have to have a clean pap test before not being contagious? What about oral sex or kissing or fingering? Oral sex on me is off limits, right? Kissing should be fine too?? As long as he doesn't come in contact with the warts? Can he get the virus if he fingers me? Only if he touches himself afterwards?
Rendaln: I am married and have been for 6 1/2 years. HPV is something I could have had for many years.
My doctor told me that I have hvp since Genital Warts are present. The actual test would just confirm it.

Genital warts are the most common sexually transmitted disease. Genital warts are just that, warts that are in the genital area. Most are not even seen. Can you have the warts removed? Yes. is it possible that they may come back? Yes. Can you pass the virus onto your partner after they have be removed? Yes. There is no cure for HPV, soo you will always have it. Don't confuse HPV with Herpes. You can still have oral sex, i bet you are glad to hear that. Genital warts are passed through genital to genital contact. Hopefully this answers your questions and calms your fears, but if you have more talk to your doctor. I have included a link from the cdc for more information.
