i need to know specific details of the hpv shot and how it works?

ok so here is my deal: so i had my 2nd pap smear and my doctor asked me to look down there and she said i could have HPV and as a result Genital Warts but i really didn’t see anything i mean what she showed me was flat and not like the pics i have looked at the internet, but i am really confused because i dont know what to think. So i got the HPV shot when i was 18 i got my 1st dose in march 2007, then the next in may 2007 and the last in october 2007, then also in october 2007 probably about 2-5 days after my last shot i lost my virginity and about 5 days after that i went for the 1st time to get my 1st pap and std/hiv test and everything was normal… so now a year later my doctor says it could be hpv/Genital Warts but since i told her i had no itching she said not to worry and just wait a week to see my results, so here is my thing: if i did get the HPV shot is it still possible for me to get Genital Warts or the hpv virus through sex (mostly unprotected)? and is sex the only way to get genital warts/hpv? if so since i have only had sex with one person is it safe to assume that they cheated or safer to assume it was dormant in them and they are or were unaware?
also is it safe to assume that if it was that wouldnt either me or my bf have warts or whatever on our mouth since we both do oral for one another…

    1. 2-5 days may not have been enough time to let the last of the shots take full effect. You should have waited maybe 10-14 days to be sure that your immune ysstem was able to catch up.

    2. Sometimes, people engage in sex acts without realizing they’re sex acts. Dry humping can spread HPV, so if you have done this in the past, you or your partner could have caught HPV that way.

    3. Genital warts do not always appear as they do on the internet. They take a variety of forms. And no, they usually do not itch.
