Life with genital warts? Guys perspective.?

I've recently been diagnosed with Genital Warts. And though I've read most sexually active people have HPV, Genital Warts are far less common and carry the weight of sounding gross and dirty. Guys, how did you go about telling girls about this? What kind of reactions did you get? What is life like living with this? Thank you
I didn't mean to mislead, I know genitall warts are common, I just meant in relation to the other strains of HPV.
