Need advice from people with HPV, or anyone really familiar with it please?

Please no mean answers here… only educated ones..
OK im a little confused…My Fiance and i have been together 4 years…. After our two year mark, he developed something around his anus and inside a little bit.. he was told they wer possibly hpv/Genital Warts and he had them surgically removed and that was over a year ago and he hasnt had them again. I was pregnant at the time he had this and i never developed ANY type of warts and my pap smears are normal. My question is, is it possible it was something else since i have never had any warts or abnormal paps? This was a year and a half ago and i still havent had any… And my second question is, can it still be passed on to someone else, like if we split up and i got in another relationship.. even though iv never had it? This is so confusing… Anyone with any good info, please help.. THanks..
and no hes not bi or gay.. doc said u can get them anywhere.. it doesnt mean he had anal sex

Hi there are 4 main types of HPV. These are 2 strands that cause warts. Probably the one your partner has. And the other 2 are ones that cause cervical cancer.

So without confusing you anymore, this is what it sounds like to me.

    - Your partner probably has a HPV strand that causes warts. You probably have this too, but your body has just dealt with the strand differnetly and you do not show up with wart symptoms.
    - The reason why you had normal papsmears, is because this strand does not cause cervical cancer, all it causes is warts.

If you are positive for the HPV even though you do not show symptoms then yes you can still pass it on.

You say you were together for 2 years before he developed it… well that alone tells you that either you or him had the virus when you started dating (for how long? who knows). So you either gave him this, or he had it when you to met. But he didn’t develop any symptoms for 2 years.

So you could still develop symptoms years later. or you could just have the virus and not have symptoms.

If i were you, i’d look into getting the HPV vacination. Cervical cancer vaccine. It will protect you against the other strands of HPV.

    Hope i haven’t confused you
