Will genital warts virus(HPV) be totally cleared?

April 21, 2009 by admin

I have few questions and need a relevant answer regarding HPV Genital Warts.

1. Could genital wart's virus(HPV) be totally killed by our natural body system? If yes. How long does it usually take for our body immune sys to clear it up?

2. If our body immune had supressed the virus to dormant(virus still there), but no longer physical wart. Do we have a chance to pass it to our partner. If yes, please advice on how do we have children with our wife in future?

3. Genital wart is caused by virus HPV but where does the virus live in ? Does it live in our DNA/Genes?

    1) No. It's a virus and therefore our bodies will always have the virus however in the majority of people, it does go dormant within 6 – 12 months

It is proven that 90% of all sexually active people have been exposed to HPV but most people don't experience any adverse effects. It's normal to have HPV.

    2) Once the virus goes dormant, it cannot be passed to anyone else. No need to change your sexual habits b/c of HPV. You will get it at least a few more times if you have sex with other people. Once again, it's normal to have HPV.

    3) HPV dna lives in our cells. It's not genetic and cannot be passed through genes.

Don't stress about it at all. If you are young, get the vaccine (even if you are a man). It will protect from the 4 most common strains.

Just a side note – everyone I know has HPV including me.

    Good luck, WL
