Why Adolescent Girls Should Visit a Gynecologist

November 2, 2009 by admin · Comments Off

Adolescence is the time when girls face many changes as they not only become physically mature, but sexually, too. In order to maintain good health, they need to consult gynecologist, adolescent medicine physician and obstetrician. Adolescents who are sexually active need to get some test done like pelvic examination, Pap test and test for checking sexually transmitted diseases. This helps the early determination of conditions that can affect reproductive, gynecological and sexual health.   Schiller test is conducted where the iodine solution is used to cover the cervix. In colposcopy, colposcope is used to check the cervix and the vagina. Cancer is checked by biopsy. In this a small quantity of cervical tissue is removed and a pathologist checks the tissue for abnormal cells.    The most important test is the Pap test or a pap smear. The cells from the mouth of the womb or the cervix are collected to check for cancer, abnormal cells, infection or inflammation. The detection of abnormalities shows signs of cancer. Therefore it is recommended that every female must take Pap test regularly to check out for invasive cancers in the early stages itself. And if invasive cancer is detected, it can be successfully treated in the early stages. Apart from detecting invasive cancer, other changes, such as cancer cells or dysplasia and inflammation, of the vagina and cervix can also be determined. Inflammation can be caused by pregnancy, abortion, miscarriage, hormones, trichomoniasis infections, viruses, bacteria, Yeast Infections, and other medication. The repetition Pap test will be suggested by the gynecologist. When a girl becomes sexually active, she will have to test for cervical cancer after three years of becoming active because it usually takes many years for the significant development of cancer or abnormality. Usually there are some cervical cell changes and transient human papilloma virus infections or HPV infections which are very common. Therefore, a Pap test for cervical cancer is recommended every three years. But women who are under thirty years are at a higher risk of getting HPV infections of higher risk. It would be more feasible if every individual takes advice from her doctor about when she can begin screening, the frequency of the test to be taken, and when she can discontinue the tests. In a Pap test, if abnormal cells are determined, usually more tests are recommended to detect abnormalities which will require treatment. Abnormal Pap test will be handled differently for adolescents when compared to adults. Usually the low grade cervical lesions will not require any treatment and will go away on their own. That is the reason why the Pap test is repeated after a gap of six to twelve months, after the original Pap test which identifies abnormalities. But this repetition will vary from individual to individual depending on her health status and kind of abnormalities found. A replacement of the Pap test is thinprep test. It involves new technique for testing cells from the cervix for abnormalities. But the cost of getting a thinprep test done is double the cost of getting Pap test done. The advantage of getting a thinprep test is that it requires to be re-done less number of times and detects lesions in initial stages itself. The cervical cells, instead of getting smeared on a slide, are introduced into a liquid vial. After the filtration of the liquid, the cells from the cervix are examined by being placed on the slide.

Sexually Transmitted Infections

November 2, 2009 by admin · Comments Off

1. WHAT ARE SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED DISEASES (STDS)?

Sexually transmitted diseases are diseases that can be passed from person to person through sexual contact. In this case sexual contact means penis-vagina penetration, oral sex which is sexual contact using the mouth, and insertion of the penis into the rectum which is anal sex. Some of these diseases may be transmitted by exchange of sexual fluids such as semen or vaginal discharge. Some of the STD’s result in open sores, and it can be spread by contact with skin of someone else. There are also ways to transmit these diseases in a non sexual way, an infected pregnant woman can either give it to her baby during pregnancy, or when the baby is being delivered. Drug abusers can transmit the disease through sharing hypodermic needles that have been used by an infected person. The seriousness of STD’s varies, some are cured easily by drugs, others need a combination of treatments and drugs, whilst others have no cure, and the only option is treatment.

2. WHAT ARE SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED IINFECTIONS (STI’s)?

Any infection that is usually passed through sexual contact.

3. ARE THE TWO WORDS INTERCHANGEABLE?

Fifteen years ago both these categories came under one name Venereal Disease (VD). To distinguish between them they were separated into infections (STI) and diseases(STD). Infection means that a germ, bacteria, parasite or virus is present in the body. An infected person does not necessarily have any symptoms, which means that they do not usually feel ill..A disease is any abnormal condition of the body or mind that causes discomfort, dysfunction, or distress, in other words your body tells you that you are unwell. This means that STI covers a wider range than the term STD. STD refers only to infections that are causing problems. Because most of the time, people don’t know they are infected with an STI until they start showing symptoms of disease, the AIDS Resource Center uses the term STD, even though the term STI is also appropriate in many cases.

Let’s see if we can simply un-muddy the waters here. Genital Herpes has two states when the blisters are present and when they are absent. When they are present they are causing symptoms, ie the blisters, at this stage it is an STD, and it is that this stage that the infection is most likely to be spread to another person. When the blisters are absent then there are no symptoms, and this is then an STI, and the likelihood of an infection is reduced. However, HIV can be an infection, in the sense that there may be no symptoms, when they develop symptoms then they have AIDS which is an STD. However it is important to remember that HIV infection can be spread at any time.

4.WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN STD’S AND HIV?

A person who is already infected with STD, has a higher risk of contracting HIV if they have unprotected sex, without a condom. This risk is greater if the STD causes open genital sores, as these wounds provide a break in the skin which enables the HIV infection to enter the blood stream. STDs that can cause genital ulcers include genital herpes, syphilis, chancre, gonorrhoea, trichomoniasis, and scabies.

5.WHY IS IT DIFFICULT TO RECOGNIZE THAT YOU MAY HAVE A STD?

First of all the majority of the people with STD have no immediate symptoms and when they do have them it can be misleading to diagnose as the symptoms can be confused with non sexual diseases. Please note that this applies much more to women than men.

6. WHAT ARE THE MOST COMMON SYMPTOMS FOR WOMEN WHEN THEY ARE SUFFERING FROM AN STD?

unusual or bad-smelling vaginal discharge, severe itching or burning in the genital area, unusual bleeding, pain in the pelvic region, pain during sex, rashes on the genitals, open sores or warts on the genital area, and/or recurrent urinary tract infections.

7. WHAT ARE THE MOST COMMON SYMPTOMS FOR MEN WHEN THEY ARE SUFFERING FROM AN STD?

In men, the most common symptoms of STD are:

pain when urinating, open sores or warts on the genital aregenital rashdischarge from the penis, and/or pain in the scrotum/testicles.

8. WHAT ARE THE OTHER SYMPTOMS NOT CONNECTED TO THE GENITALS?

The following symptoms are present in both men and women:

discharge from the anus, swelling of the groin, jaundice (yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes),oral thrush (white tongue),arthritis, sores or bumps in and around the mouth, and generalized rashes.

9 CAN I CONTRACT STI AS A RESULT OF MUTUAL MASTERBATION?

Yes you can and listed below are some examples:

Bacterial Vaginosis Cytomegalovirus (CMV) Herpes Simplex Human Papilloma Virus (HPV, Warts) Pubic Lice Scabies

10. CAN I PREVENT GETTING STI or STD?

The only foolproof way is abstinence from sex. A condom merely reduces the risk, and it must be used every time, before any sexual fluids are exchanged.

Hidden Truth U must read to fight Cancer with Alternatives

November 2, 2009 by admin · Comments Off

Ancient wisdom lost in time!
21st century science has taken over!
Or has it?

The same conspiracy theories now viewed by alternative health practitioners. What an awakening over the last few decades.

All these so-called fantasies are today taken for granted. In the past, lifetimes were dedicated to solving daily challenges and disease, and if someone came up with a solution, or a perceived solution, all other projects were dropped – well what was the point in continuing. The problem is not in finding a solution to cure cancer. That may shock you. The problem is in proving your findings, over time, with no back-up funding. So we are forced then to operate out of the traditional medical model, then only to be labeled quacks.

Well I can tell you, it is nothing less than belief and passion that drive alternative thinking people to solve this riddle. The traditional model is making progress; with early detection cancers can be removed with a positive prognosis. But unfortunately metastatic cancers still have a very low success rate for a positive outcome, and sadly, shrinkage is still considered a success and the reason chemotherapy is often used without the thought of quality of life. In fact, if I had cancer I have a complete belief that doing nothing would give me a better outcome then putting myself on a platter for the traditional chemotherapy and radiation treatments / research / experiment.

Then there is the desire to live, to stay a little longer, or possibly beat or cure cancer using alternatives. After a decade in the industry, today I see how easy people are led astray. Someone drank this special juice and then became cancer free. Please open your eyes; no one product holds all the answers to curing cancer, nor do I believe one alternative cancer therapy has the answers for all cancers.

Let’s first view cancer, what is it?

Cancer is by definition a healing crisis in the body. An area that as a result of ??something?? and has had ongoing inability to heal, thus cancer is formed. They are cells that are premature, that lack the ability at that early stage to recognize a wall. For example when an area is to heal, new cells are formed, they grow to full or replace an area that has been damaged, once they hit a different part of the body, for example lung cancer touches an area outside the lung, they should stop growing. Cancer cells don’t recognize this new tissue and continue to grow. Theorized in Edward Griffith’s book and Philip Day’s book as tripoblast, the same cells that are found in the fast growing cells of a newly forming fetus as well as in large quantities when we have an injury or surgery, these cells play an important role in the quick growth of cells to repair the body.

Let’s look at the cause and why this is important?
Well let’s face it, if you don’t eliminate the cause and it still is getting into your system, do you think you will win the battle? Let’s take smoking. If it happened to cause the aggravation in the lung, and this was ongoing, eventually turning into cancer, if you still smoke, you can see how it would be difficult to believe the cancer could be cured?

If the cancer was caused by electromagnetic current like living under power lines, again, it would have to go or you will have to move. If a brain tumor was caused by a mobile phone, it would have to go, don’t you agree? And I wouldn’t wonder if it’s true or not, I would just play it safe and get rid of the phone! If your cancer was caused by xeno-estrogens that are given off in reheated plastics and soft plastics, or by chemicals washed off from your roof into water supplies, or food imported from countries where high chemicals are sprayed onto crops – if you still had these chemicals entering your body, and they were the initial fuel that caused the cancer, you have little chance of putting out the fire if you don’t eliminate them. If you took antacids to put out the fire of poor eating habits, thus causing your body to increase the acid production required for digesting your food, and you did this on an ongoing basis, and this was the cause of your esophagus cancer, you would have to stop this to eliminate the cause. If your cancer was caused by parasites such as the human papilloma virus (HPV) have been linked to cervical cancer, and the parasite was never eliminated, what chance would you have? I think you understand the idea now. Eliminating the cause, or possible cause, is IMPORTANT whatever path you choose to go, traditional, complementary or alternative.

Then there are the buried alternatives!
Making a way now is a result of dedicated people, mostly well-educated, pushing hard to cause an awakening in all of us. Motivated by this news, many then believe this is the cure, B17, Cesium, ozone, and so on. Well I have seen miracles using these on their own. But truly it is hit or miss! Sadly I can’t tell you if it will work for you or not; I can tell you though, that I believe all of the alternatives we have listed here on their own have worked with some clients I have worked with, completely eliminating any signs of cancer. Equally in some cancers they haven’t worked. This ancient wisdom passed down from past scientists and medical practitioners like the Cesium High pH Theory by the late Aubrey Keith Brewer, Ph.D., and later continued by an employee at that time – Dr. Sartori. Then there is laetrile, also referred to as Vitamin B17 by Dr. Krebs and later publicized by G. Edward Griffin in “Cancer The Winnable War,” and later by Philip Day from Credence in “Cancer – Why I’m Still Dying To Know The Truth.” Then there are many herbal teas and herbs and parasite-eliminating promoted books on cancer, too many to mention. These all seem to have merit and reported benefits.

Has a Layman found the solution?
Then a layperson, with a desire to find a solution and cure for a loved one, decided over time that it was silly to rely on just one solution. Why don’t we combine them in a step-by-step process – thus, leaving no stone unturned and offering the best possible outcome? First he recommended doing an assessment with blood tests, parasite screening and eliminating weaknesses in nutrition and its possible causes. Then strengthening the immune system by adding in supplements for this, and to strengthen the liver with the ability to detoxify with herbs, nutrition, juicing and coffee enema discovered by the late Dr Max Gerson who was a German physician who developed the Gerson therapies. This vegan diet never cured an O Blood Type. An important observation this layperson used to reason the Blood Type Diet. Then add in laetrile and parasite cleanses for a month. Altering the diet for 21 days to organic juices and living food, then slowly changing to a diet based on origins of the “Eat To Your Blood Type Diet.” After evaluating blood tests in month two, continuing with injections as required if the cancer has stopped growing, and adding high levels of Vitamin C via a drip, he theorized, would help speed up results and clean out the dead cancer cells.

If it hasn’t slowed or stopped the cancer!
He then added in the High pH Therapy Program. This intensive IV combination of 20 minerals is so promising, with me witnessing a fist-sized mouth cancer completely dissolving within a few weeks, metastatic breast cancer in the liver, spine and hip bone cancer completely dissolving after a month or two of treatment. This is truly exciting. People with massive bone cancer that couldn’t walk, walking after a few days of this treatment, and the cancer stopped growing the first week of the treatment. This treatment can take its toll on the body, so it made sense to prepare the person the month prior.

Then after this very exhausting therapy, rebuilding the body with good healthy food, hyperbaric oxygen, massage etc., just makes sense when the body has gone through the equivalent of major surgery.

This is a very brief summary of the reason we have adopted this program; early trials are nothing short of exciting, and we believe the controlled organic environment at the XYZ-Wellbeing ReTreat Facility, Alternative Hospital, whatever you wish to call it, may produce results never seen before in the elimination of cancer.

Included in the program is a synergistic balance of every service we offer, under the top link “ReTreat Services,” as well as experienced use of these combination’s of what we call ancient wisdom.

Essentials Of Warts

November 2, 2009 by admin · Comments Off

Millions of Americans develop problems with their skin. One common problem that many individuals experience at least once in their lifetime is warts. Honestly, just about anyone can get a wart. Warts are common in children, adults, and even the elderly. At any point in time, one can develop a wart, no matter what their ages, sexes, or races are.

Warts are typically caused by the Human Papilloma Virus(HPV) and can spread from person to person. You may not develop warts by having direct contact with someone who has warts because, although warts are spread by touch, not everyone is susceptible to them. Honestly, it all depends on the health and condition of your own skin.

Warts are defined as small growths that appear on the skin which are considered benign or non-cancerous. In some cases, warts are considered completely harmless. The only problem is that some are painful. In fact, the pain associated with a wart all depends on where it is located. Warts can appear on just about any place of the body; however, they tend to occur on the feet, hands, neck, and face. Despite being harmless, there are many individuals who want to have their warts removed because warts tend to be unattractive. In conclusion, although warts are not dangerous but they do affect our self-esteem, so we should deal with them.

If you are interested in having your wart removed, you’d better contact your doctor firstly. Not only can they give you information on effective treatment options, but they can also examine your wart. Although most warts are harmless, it is still nice to know for sure. If you have health insurance coverage, there is nothing that prevents you from visiting your physician. If you do not have a health insurance or you cannot find the time to make a doctor’s appoint, you will be relieved to know that there are a number of over-the-counter treatment options for you. Of course, you should always be cautious when treating wart using traditional treatments just because once surgical intervention or chemical acids are used one can expect a scar in that area.

Medicinal plants offer safe and effective treatments for many ailments, and recent studies on human subjects show just how powerful they can be. Medicinal plants are very potent and effective, but don’t have any side effects like scarring, tissue damage, or pain. Plant medicine is a very vast field and information about the use of medicinal plant extracts to heal hard-to-treat ailments is constantly growing. We have in-depth knowledge of biochemistry and extensive experience in the field of plant medicine. This has helped us to develop potent therapeutic treatments that are very popular among health practitioners and the general public.

Warts â?? Home Remedies for Warts

November 2, 2009 by admin · Comments Off

Warts are skin-coloured, uneven lumps (non-cancerous) on the skin. They mostly appear on the hands and feet. Their look depends on where they erupt on the body and how thick the skin is.

Thus, they are skin infections caused by viruses of the human papillomavirus (HPV) family. The HPV virus causes a hard protein called keratin in the top layer of the skin (the epidermis) to grow too much, producing the rough, hard texture of a wart.

They can affect any area of the body. Warts are usually painless with the exception of the warts on the soles of the feet.

Warts are more common in kids than in adults. They are usually painless and harmless, and often clear up by themselves, although treatment can help to get rid of them more quickly.Types of warts include:

â?¢ common warts – mostly found on fingers, hands, knees, and elbows, where the skin has been broken. These are also called “seed” warts because the blood vessels to the wart produce black dots that look like seeds.

â?¢ filiform warts – these have a finger-like shape, are usually flesh-colored, and often grow on or around the mouth, eyes, or nose.

â?¢ flat warts – also called juvenile warts. They tend to grow in large numbers â?? 20 to 30 at a time. Most people who get flat warts have them on their faces, but they can also grow on arms, knees, or hands.

â?¢ plantar warts – found on the bottom of the foot (known as verruca). They can be very uncomfortable – like walking on a small stone.

â?¢ Genital Warts – sometimes called venereal warts, are contracted through sexual contact. They’re spread by direct, skin-to-skin contact during vaginal, anal, or oral sex with an infected person. Warts Symptoms:

Symptoms of common warts include:

- Small, fleshy bumps

- Flesh-colored or whitish, pink or tan

- Rough to touch

Warts may occur singly or in clusters. They often contain one or more tiny black dots, which are sometimes called wart seeds, which are actually small, clotted blood vessels. Young adults and children appear to be affected most often. Are warts contagious?

Yes. Warts are very contagious. The skin cells in warts release thousands of viruses, so close skin-to-skin contact can pass on the infection. It is also possible to get warts from using towels or other objects that were used by an infected person.

The time from the first contact with an infected person to the time the warts have grown large enough to be seen is often several months. The risk of catching hand, foot, or flat warts from another person is however small.

People with a weak immune system are more likely to get infected.

Often warts disappear on their own, although it may take many months, or even years, for the warts to go away. However, some warts won’t go away on their own.Warts Treatment â??

Warts need to be treated, as they can turn out to be inconvenient. They can bleed and cause pain, and can be awkward, if they grow on your face. Treatment decreases the chance that they will be spread to other areas of your body or to other people.

Warts are treated depending on the age of the patient and the type of wart.

Do not try any home remedies or over-the-counter drugs to remove warts on the genital area. One shouldn’t treat warts on the face without taking advice from the doctor first.

Common warts in young children can be treated at home by applying salicylic acid gel or solution. Treatment should be stopped at least temporarily if the wart becomes sore.

For adults, cryotherapy (freezing) is preferred. Repeat treatments at intervals of one to three weeks are necessary.

Electrosurgery (burning) is another good alternative treatment.

Laser treatment is a recent technique used for stubborn warts that have not responded to other therapies.

In case of foot warts, the dermatologist may recommend a change in footwear to reduce pressure on the wart and ways to keep the foot dry since moisture tends to allow warts to spread. If once treated, do warts recur?

Most of the time, treatment of warts on the skin is successful and the warts are permanently gone. The body’s immune system usually gets rid of any tiny bits of wart that may have remained after a wart has been treated.

Genital Warts are more dangerous as they are likely to come back. This is so, as there’s no cure for the virus that causes them and because warts are more difficult to control in a moist environment. Preventive steps to avoid getting warts â??

To reduce the risk of getting a wart -

â?¢ Avoid touching other peopleâ??s warts.

â?¢ Do not scratch a wart as this may spread the infection to other parts of the body.

â?¢ Avoid sharing towels or other personal items with an infected person.

â?¢ Do not share shoes or socks with someone who has a foot wart.

â?¢ If you have a wart on your hand, you should wear gloves if you are using common equipment.

â?¢ To avoid Genital Warts, practice safe sex. Always use condoms. You can also avoid genital warts by having a monogamous sexual relationship with a partner known to be disease-free.Warts can easily be avoided – you have to be alert and responsible to prevent its spread.
