Can you get HPV from giving someone with HPV genital warts oral sex?

April 20, 2009 by admin

The header pretty well sums it up. If you give somebody oral sex while they have HPV warts, can you contract the disease in any form? What are the chances?

If you don't know, please don't give me a bullsnuff answer pretending that you do. Thanks.
I appreciate your answers, but MAN are people here presumptuous, or what?

I never said I actually did give a girl oral sex, nor did I even indicate that I wanted to. I just want to know hypothetically, if someone gave someone else oral sex, and the receiver had HPV, would it give the giver the disease in an oral form– or even spread through the person's system to affect the genitals?

HPV is transmittable through mucosa during the sexual contact. the people HPV positive is likely passing the virus to others to the wound u don't even notice, especially the one with visible warts, more infectious.so the answer is YES, u may got infected if u gave oral sex to other, the chance of having warts in the mouth is very high. well the symptom may come out after 2months to years after the contact, no guarantee.for some people they got infected and HPV positive the rest of their life without symptom. condom is an option for oral sex, but only keep the female from infected. the male perform oral sex to female that HPV positive, risks the chance of warts symptom in the mouth. and NO, the mouth that contact with HPV may have the warts in future, but definitely not the genital area, unless the mouth saliva infected to genital area. hope this helps, m not doctor, for detail better check with the doc.!
