Exactly how contagious is hpv/genital warts?

April 11, 2009 by admin

My boyfriend and i have been having unprotected sex together for 3 1/2 years and a few days ago we went to the clinic to get checked for stds because my bf had gotten small flesh colored warts on his penis. Turns out he has HPV but the clinic told me i didnt. Is that even possible? Did i just get REALLY lucky? Or should i go to a different doc and get tested again?

    1) Types of HPV that affect the skin can be passed on by skin contact with an affected person. The types of HPV that affect the mouth and throat can be passed on through kissing.Genital HPV is usually spread through intimate, skin to skin, contact during sex.You can have the genital HPV virus for years and not have any sign of it. So it isn’t unusual to have a long term partner and then be told you have the virus after medical tests such as cervical screening. Many people then worry that their partner has been unfaithful, or will think they have been unfaithful. But finding out you have HPV doesn’t necessarily mean that you or your partner have been unfaithful. There is no way of knowing how long you have had the virus. It could be weeks, months or years.

2)you both should go to your doctor! and if those are genital warts –
in that case Wartrol is a good (probably the best) product that gets rid of genital warts and makes you feel more confident knowing that they wont show.

    It worked for me!

I do not know if any pharmacies carry Wartrol but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.wartrol.com/?aid=749165
