people who have hpv/genital warts?

i had a lump by my vaginal area it looked like a pimple so i popped it and of course it got bigger and looked like a wart after poking at it i got worried after3-4 days it went away and didn't come back could this be Genital Warts. i was told if you have Genital Warts it's usuall an outbreak and they tend to spread around your area and not go away with out treatment? is this true? i always use protection but i know that its never 100% safe so do u think this was a wart or just a pimple down there
